La Mome

Zakręt 8, Sadyba

La Môme means in French “a little bold girl from the suburbs” and is one of the newest offerings in Warsaw for everything French. La Mome was the nickname of Edith Piaf, whose most popular quote “Je ne regrette rien” (I regret nothing) welcomes the bistro guests as a neon sign. The place aims at being an inclusive place. Therefore the pricing policy reflects this approach offering various price points making French food affordable to anyone, from traditional sandwiches to mindblowing Charolais sirloin Tournedos. Meat is the specialty of the place by far and the beef is Charolais (the noblest beef race in France) and the duck is a magret (duck breasts from a duck raised for Foie Gras). The other specialty of La Môme is fish and seafood since owner Tatiana comes from La Rochelle, the French capital of oysters and mussels. Definitely worth putting in your regular favorites, especially for the hot days, with the Sadyba Lake nearby! Brilliant and definitely one of the best French bistros in Warsaw!

Krem

Śniadeckich 18, City Center

Krem Restaurant is one of the most famous Parisian-style places not only in Warsaw, but in Poland in general. It is created to look like a typical French bistro and is also maintained in such a convention. It is worth visiting especially in late spring and summer to have breakfast at a table located on the… sidewalk. This place is especially recommended for breakfast – we can try there a delicious French baguette in several different variants, as well as enjoy a Parisian “omelet”.

The menu also includes several offerings for a slightly larger appetite, including, among others, a delicious onion soup baked with cheese. All the richness of flavors offered by Krem is perfectly complemented by the interior, which is kept in an elegant yet minimalist style. The restaurant is run by Luc Magnon – a Parisian who has lived in Warsaw for several years. His goal was to “disenchant” French cuisine, which in Poland was perceived as expensive and exclusive, and therefore also difficult to access. Brilliant and definitely one of the best French bistros in Warsaw!

Mon Ami by Saint Jaques

Francuska 5, Saska Kepa

After a long absence, Saint Jacques has returned to the Warsaw gastronomic map under the name Mon Ami by Saint Jacques. The new menu consists of the restaurant’s tried-and-true recipes and has been enriched with French dishes you haven’t tried there before. Examples? Sesame-coated frog legs with garlic cream sauce and tomato concasse, hot liver salad with currant sauce, a cauldron full of moules, shrimp, squid and saffron in a wine and cream sauce, or lamb’s neck with vegetable brunoise on herb and trifle purée. Brilliant and definitely one of the best French bistros in Warsaw!

Cafe de la Poste

Schroegera 72, Stary Bielany

Café de la Poste restaurant and cafe is located just off Confederation Square and was one of the first real French bistros in Warsaw. Some say its interior even perfectly captures the atmosphere of old Bielany. Along with the cafe, there is a delicatessen – Gourmet by Café de la Poste, where, as owner Tatiana declares, you can experience French authenticity. The place was created in 2013, by a French couple who wanted to create a meeting place for local Francophiles. Café de la Poste offers many French specialties, including wines, aperitifs, Belgian beers, as well as sandwiches and croissants, among others. However, the place is famous for its excellent boards of French cheeses and cured meats. Brilliant and definitely one of the best French bistros in Warsaw!

La Buvette

Mochnackiego 4, Old Ochota

La Buvette is a French bistro located in the heart of Old Ochota. It is an extremely atmospheric place where you can not only eat well but also spend a nice time with your friends or your other half. The menu includes appetizers perfect with wine, sandwiches on a crusty baguette, or excellent house wines. The place is famous for its excellent quality meats and cheeses, which are specially imported from France.

There is also a store on site where you can buy French delicacies to take away. Interestingly, La Buvette is somewhat of a fruit of chance. It was created on the initiative of Natalia and Harold. She wanted to open her own restaurant, while he wanted to smuggle a bit of his native culture into Poland. This is how the idea for a French bistro was born, which can hardly complain about a lack of guests. It is worth visiting especially in summer to enjoy the view of the beautiful garden.
