A 32-year-old woman from Warsaw embarked on a nightmare ordeal after arranging a date online with a man she met through a dating app. What began as an ordinary meeting turned sinister when the woman failed to return home, prompting her worried mother to seek police assistance.
Responding swiftly, officers from Śródmieście located the woman in distress within a tenement house on ul. Koszykowa. Trapped in the basement by her newfound acquaintance, the woman was rescued by law enforcement after they heard her cries for help. Visibly shaken, she was immediately taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Subsequently, a 40-year-old suspect was apprehended as he arrived at the scene in his car. Despite his resistance, he was subdued by police and taken into custody. Following a night in detention, the man faces charges of unlawful deprivation of freedom and violating a court driving ban. Pending trial, he has been placed under surveillance and prohibited from contacting the victim. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison, as confirmed by Staff Sergeant Jakub Pacyniak of the downtown police.
