In a shocking development in one of Warsaw’s biggest robberies, investigators have arrested the wife of an accused three years after the crime. The December 2021 heist saw masked robbers steal nearly PLN 3 million from a money escort on the outskirts of Warsaw. The perpetrators fled, later burning their getaway car before disappearing.
The trial was set to conclude on August 22, but prosecutors requested the testimony of Anna J., the wife of one of the two accused, delaying the verdict. Her husband, a businessman, claims innocence, stating he was in Spain at the time of the robbery. However, police found PLN 430,000 hidden on his property, which he claimed was unrelated to the crime.
Despite their denials, both accused remain in prison, with the case now taking a new turn with Anna J.’s involvement. The investigation continues as only a portion of the stolen money has been recovered.
