Coconut Chronicles: From Home Kitchen to Heart of Warsaw

In 2021, a culinary adventure unfolded in the home kitchen of Ashwin and Alina, an Indian-Ukrainian duo tired of the corporate grind. Hailing from Bengaluru, South India, Ashwin missed the authentic taste of his mother’s South Indian dishes. Having lived across Europe, he often practiced cooking, earning accolades from friends who encouraged him to open a restaurant.

The dream materialized into Coconut, named after the iconic coconut trees of South India. Starting with a humble WhatsApp group, they initially offered a limited menu, featuring stars like Chicken Dum Biriyani and Chicken Pepper Fry. As demand soared, the home kitchen became cramped, leading to a move to a cloud kitchen in Praga, Warsaw.

Recognizing the need for a personal touch, they envisioned their restaurant. Overcoming obstacles, Coconut Restaurant & Café opened its doors on Płocka 17 in Wola on April 8, 2022. The joy of serving the first customer marked a significant milestone. The couple personally renovated the space within a month.

Ashwin, the creative force behind the recipes and spice blends, ensures an authentic Indian taste without any artificial additives. The restaurant prioritizes authenticity and eschews chemicals, embodying a commitment to quality. With each passing day, Coconut strives to enhance its service and share its culinary delights with more people in Warsaw. With a high client base of the Indian community eating here, it’s their best indicator of authenticity!

Your experience today is a testament to their journey. Enjoy the flavors, share the joy with your loved ones, and leave your feedback on Google or tag them on social media. Your appreciation fuels their passion for serving the best of Indian cuisine in the heart of Warsaw.
