Hi Michał. First off, what does Ferajna mean?

Michał: It’s an old Polish slang term from Warsaw, equivalent to “Goodfellas” or “Wiseguys.”

How did you get involved in Ferajna?

Michał: I was one of the first customers on an online platform called BeardShop.pl, selling grooming products. I became friends with the owner and, when the opportunity arose, we decided to open a barbershop on Nowolipki Street, which we still operate to this day.

The original location now serves for workshops and barber training. Can anyone be taught to be a barber?

Michał: I believe anyone can be taught the technical aspects, but to be an exceptional barber, a sense of style is crucial, and that’s something we can’t teach.

Do you think women appreciate beards? It can’t be comfortable for kissing…

Michał: Absolutely. I personally know women with beard fetishes!

Are there any downsides to having a long beard?

Michał: Choosing food carefully in a fancy restaurant and navigating a bike can be challenging at times. Hahaha.

What’s the connection between barbershops and tattoos?

Michał: In the past, tattoo artists often worked in the back of barbershops when tattoos were more underground. That’s why we occasionally invite tattoo artists to Ferajna for guest spots.

Do you see many young people choosing to become barbers as a career?

Michał: Definitely. It’s considered cool nowadays, but it’s not as easy as they think. It involves hard manual labor!
