“Give me the cash.” Those were the chilling words that echoed through a small store in Warsaw’s Targówek district on the night of August 16. As the clock ticked closer to 11 pm, a man and a woman walked in, sizing up their opportunity. With the store empty except for the cashier, they knew this was their moment.
The duo didn’t waste any time. The man forced his way behind the counter, overpowering the employee while his partner in crime emptied the cash register, making off with PLN 1,300. As soon as the thieves fled, the shaken cashier called the police.
The police wasted no time either. Officers from the criminal division hit the streets, piecing together the thieves’ escape route. It didn’t take long for them to zero in on the suspects. With a little help from the crew at the Jagiellonian Street police station, they tracked down the culprits. The 28-year-old woman was arrested first, followed by her 34-year-old accomplice just a few hours later.
The case is a reminder that even in the quiet hours of the night, the police are always on the trail, ready to bring justice to those who think they can get away with a quick score. A quick good ending for a change!
